Introduction to Chinese Institute for History of the World War II
Chinese Institute for History of the World War II is a mass academic society of the study of the history of the World War II. The society is charged by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and is attached to Institute of World History, CASS. It was established in 1980. The commanding institution of the society is the council elected by the representative meeting of its members and is made up of the director, associate director, secretory general, associate general and several trustees. The society aims to unite researchers and teachers on the history of the World War II all over China, and promote the research of the history of the World War II through academic discussion and communication. It used to organize discussions on the history of the so-called “Pacific War”, the historical status and important role of the Chinese Anti-Japanese War in the World War II, the origin of the World War II, the first stage of the World War II. It often organizes academic conference in cooperation with other institutes. Papers on the History of the World War II was edited by this society. Its own journal is titled Correspondence on the History of the World War II.
